Eurochêne

Eurochêne is a French sawmill specializing in the sawing and processing of oak and hardwoods. Based in Saint-Lothain, in the Jura (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté), the company is a family sawmill whose origins go back to a round-wood business launched after the war by Alphonse Julien and his brothers. The oak and beech sawmill itself was created in 1976, then incorporated in 1986. Now run by the second generation of the Julien family, it operates a 100,000 m² site, including 35,000 m² under cover. Eurochêne focuses its know-how on Burgundy oak and masters several processing stages, from sawing to drying through to precision planing. It works wood from French hardwood forests and states that it serves customers in around fifty countries. The company notably serves the furniture, flooring and fit-out, outdoor-development sectors, as well as heritage restoration and wood merchants. The catalog covers sawn oak and various hardwoods: boules, structural beams, strips, decking and cladding boards, as well as dried stocks ready for use. In addition to oak, the company saws beech, ash, sycamore maple, wild cherry and acacia. It offers kiln and vacuum drying, steaming, planing and bespoke cutting lists. Eurochêne holds PEFC certification, attesting to a supply from sustainably managed forests, and grades its wood according to the European standard EN 975-1.
