Description
This Grade QBA in boules brings together French oak veneer logs, mostly PEFC certified. The logs are sawn into unedged boards then restacked into boules, cleanly debarked and trimmed. The quality complies with the European grading standard: the boards show good straightness and about one 20 mm knot, or the equivalent, per notional 0.20 m × 2 m rectangle. The timber is offered green, air-dried under cover or kiln-dried, and stored on dried profiled stickers to keep staining under control. The boules are strapped and identified by a barcode label. Available from 2.20 to 7 m, this grade suits staircase making (strings), fit-out (cornices) and large-format furniture. Acceptance and grading are carried out green, with a minimum volume of 5 m³ per thickness.
