Logs & roundwood
Description
Each year the sawmill works close to 20,000 m³ of logs, mainly oak, within a radius of 140 km around Estissac (Aube). The timber comes from PEFC-certified French forests, from the Aube, the Marne, the Haute-Marne, the Yonne, the Nievre and the Loiret, and is selected then graded during measurement after extraction. Two dedicated yards handle reception and storage under sprinklers, guaranteeing that the timber is preserved until it is processed or traded. The logs are sorted for noble uses: slicing for veneer, stave wood for cooperage, high-end furniture making, long straight timbers for the roof structures of historic monuments or curved timber for marine framing. Available in various diameters and in lengths from 2 to 14 m, straight or curved, they meet the requirements of timber professionals.
