TARTERET PHILIPPE SA

Tarteret Philippe SA is a French sawmill specializing in sawing and the primary processing of oak and hardwoods. Located in Estissac, in the Aube department, about 150 km southeast of Paris, the family business was founded in 1954 by Philippe Tarteret and his wife Marie-Thérèse. Remaining in the family's ownership for three generations, it has been managed since 2023 by Bertrand Tarteret. Its industrial site covers 17 hectares, including more than 40,000 m² of storage sheds. Oak is the core business of the sawmill, which processes between 17,000 and 18,000 m³ of logs each year from the Champagne, Burgundy, Île-de-France and Centre regions. It controls several stages of the chain, from log selection to sawing, drying (air and kiln) and edging, and maintains a permanent stock of dry wood exceeding 10,000 m³. The range covers the main oak sawn products: flitches, unselected boards, square-edged boards, strips, structural timber, blanks and cut-to-size pieces, as well as logs for resale. In addition to oak, the sawmill works other hardwoods such as ash, beech, poplar, lime, acacia, maple, walnut and wild cherry, air-dried or kiln-dried. The company is PEFC and ISO 9001 certified, approaches that are at the heart of its quality policy and its commitment to sustainable and responsible management of its wood supplies.
