Oak Square-Edged Board Grade QB1b Fine Joinery

Description

Grade QB1b covers French oak square-edged boards of BM "Fine Joinery" quality, mostly PEFC certified. The unedged boards are edged after drying to the sizes required, which ensures good straightness across the width with no bow. This grade permits sound knots of 5 to 40 mm evenly spread, a larger sound knot being tolerated where it is isolated: the small knots and pin knots give the timber its character. The square-edged boards are dried on profiled anti-stain stickers, made up into strapped packs and identified by a barcode label. This grade is sought after for staircases, furniture and wood flooring, where the authenticity of the material comes first. Acceptance and grading are carried out green, with a minimum volume of 5 m³ per thickness.
