Palapi, from the Mengkulang trade group, is a South-East Asian hardwood imported by Guillemette & Cie from Indonesia and Malaysia. The manufacturer's data sheet directs it towards exterior joinery and shutter slats, uses that call for a consistent utility timber. It is supplied as sawn timber cut to order, with sections prepared to order from the customer's specification. Sourcing is part of a sustainably managed forest approach and draws on the company's long-standing knowledge of the species of the area. FSC or PEFC certification holds only for batches identified as certified and is confirmed ahead of each order, without being guaranteed across the whole range.
