Description

The primer is a pre-treatment product for the EPDM membrane and provides excellent adhesion to tapes such as joint tape, perimeter retention tape, bridging tape or flashing tape, or to EPDM sealant. The primer enables bonding: - of a joint tape onto an EPDM membrane, in the case of joining 2 EPDM membranes by overlap. The Primer is intended to prepare the membrane to then be able to apply the joining adhesive tape and achieve a perfect adhesion. - of a perimeter retention tape under an EPDM membrane to ensure the mechanical hold of the EPDM membrane around the roof perimeter. - of a bridging tape onto an EPDM membrane, for example to join 2 membranes or to cover screws during mechanical fastening installation, or to finish a membrane in a gutter or on an edge strip. - of a flashing tape onto an EPDM membrane or onto any substrate to confirm sealing, in the case of inner corners, outer corners, rainwater outlets, roof penetrations, leak repairs. - of the flexible collar of a rainwater outlet with EPDM sealant. - of the rigid collar of a pipe seal cone for sealing outlets of different diameters. The primer is an important product in the installation of the EPDM membrane. It provides very good adhesion even on smooth surfaces and guarantees a perfect seal to prevent all types of leaks. Mix the primer thoroughly for at least 5 minutes until the product shows a uniform shade. The minimum use temperature is +5°C. It is very important to use the primer on a clean and dry substrate, then allow to dry. The application of the primer cleans the treated surface, degreases it and starts the cold-fusion process. The can must be systematically resealed between each use because, in contact with air, the primer will begin to solidify. The primer must not be used to bond EPDM membrane onto a substrate.
