Logs & roundwood
Description
Logs sold under the Rougier brand come from two Central African countries, Gabon and Congo-Brazzaville, and span a wide range of tropical species. The largest annual volumes are okoume, sapelli, tali, sipo, okan, padouk, beli and azobe. Pao rosa, andoung, ozigo, movingui, African mahogany (acajou), osanga, eveuss, alep, lotofa, essia, omvong, aiele, ekaba, angongui, niove and ovengkol can be supplied as well. The entire output is certified: FSC for the Gabonese forests, LegalSource for those in Congo-Brazzaville. One major restriction to bear in mind before sending an enquiry: every one of these roundwood logs is sold locally to wood-processing plants, mostly within the Nkok special economic zone (SEZ). The producer publishes no diameter, length or quality grade for these logs.
