Wood chippers
Description
Also known as a cutter, the SGM wood chipper turns sawmill by-products — slabs, edgings, offcuts — or peeling by-products — veneer rejects, cores — into chips of paper-grade quality, or intended for panel production or energy. Other applications, such as torrefaction or mulching, make it possible to get the best value from this material. SGM concentrates on chippers fitted with a knife drum and on their peripherals, in particular screening and storage equipment. The range comprises two families of drum chippers, with diameters from 500 to 1000 mm, for outputs of 2 to 30 tonnes per hour. Adjusting the feed and rotation speeds, the number of knives and the perforations of the sizing screens makes it possible to obtain the particle sizes required, from fine shavings to energy chips.
