Description
SGM offers fixed-station log crosscut saws, available in chain or pendulum versions, for crosscutting logs upstream of the sawing line. The chain saw is based on a cutting chain mounted on a pivot for a pendulum motion: two rollers with retractable bars ensure the drop of the end stops and the holding of the wood, operated by a hydraulic cylinder, while a set of four hydraulic clamping arms holds the wood during cutting. The unit integrates between two longitudinal conveyors, making it possible to advance only the crosscut log after the cut. The pendulum saw, for its part, is equipped with a measuring system to cut logs to the selected length, via a pendulum-mounted hydraulic movement and hydraulic clamping grips. Robust and automatable, these machines are suitable for sawmills that crosscut logs at a sustained pace.
