Works orders module of the Herakles ERP

Description

The works order sits at the centre of the production organisation: it brings together the parts to be made, the requirements that go with them, material, supplies, subcontracting and sub-assemblies, and the operations to be carried out. It then gathers the feedback from planning, purchasing and labour booking, which allows planned and actual budgets to be compared. Creation is manual or automatic, from a technical study or from library parts, and can be tailored by whole order, by section, by part, by workshop or by selection. Each operation in the routing carries a planned time, possibly a machine set-up time, and is attached to a work centre. Once the net requirements have been calculated, the combined procurement report is used for supplier enquiries. The shop-floor documents can carry barcodes that hold several pieces of information at once, for instance the works order number and the operation code.
