Accoya doors, windows and gates for Carinya House

For Carinya House, a fine private home in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, Australia, Accoya wood was used extensively: windows and doors for the main house, garage doors, outbuildings, a pedestrian gate with pergola, courtyard gates and a picket fence. The owners entrusted all the elements to Against the Grain, an approved Accoya manufacturer based in Katoomba that has worked with the timber since 2013, with supply through the distributor Britton Timbers. The work was completed in February 2018. The joinery was finished in a range of colours: the high dimensional stability of Accoya, which shrinks and expands far less than other species, prevents the coatings from deteriorating and ensures that windows and doors operate freely all year round.
