Accoya windows and doors for a contemporary house in Gorliz

In the coastal town of Gorliz, in Biscay in the Spanish Basque Country, a contemporary detached house completed in 2024 combines exterior cladding, windows and doors in Accoya wood to create a coherent, durable architectural envelope. The project was carried out by Ventaclim, a Spanish specialist in high-end construction solutions. Accoya Natural, finished in an elegant dark brown, clads the facade as well as the outer faces of the joinery, designed on a dual-material approach: Accoya outside for its exceptional resistance to moisture, wind and sea air, with a warm atmosphere inside. The dimensional stability of the material greatly limits swelling and shrinkage, guaranteeing precise finishes, good energy efficiency and reliable behaviour over time. Sustainably sourced and modified by a non-toxic process, Accoya gives this home a timeless look in harmony with its coastal setting.
