Casa Pacaembú: durability and precision in Accoya in São Paulo

Set in the green Pacaembu district of São Paulo, this 1,467 m² home designed by Studio Arthur Casas unfolds over three levels along a seven-metre slope, while staying discreet behind dense planting. The cyclopean concrete cast in situ, with stones placed by hand, converses with the warmth and precision of Accoya wood, supplied by Core Innovation in Wood. Accoya was chosen for the wide tilting doors and the facade elements: its dimensional stability, its light weight and its resistance to moisture were essential in the tropical climate, particularly for the automated facade systems. Completed in 2023, the house organises life around a veranda, a pool topped by a spectacular glass floor that lights a concrete tunnel, and bedrooms perched in the canopy. Clean, uniform Accoya cladding, backed by a 50-year guarantee, completes this house built to last.
