Pool deck in Salles-sur-Mer

This Kebony modified wood deck was installed in June 2021 in a residential area of Salles-sur-Mer, twelve kilometres from La Rochelle and three from Châtelaillon-Plage. The contemporary house is occupied year round by a couple and their two children.

The pool was the property's main asset, but access to it needed rebuilding. The owners wanted to modernise the look of the house, use quality materials and make the poolside safer. They describe working on the colour relationships between facade and decking, and appreciating the depth the deck brings to the whole as well as the distinction between dining and relaxing areas around the pool.

The deck extends an existing travertine terrace. Nearly two years after installation, the wood has developed an even silver patina that enhances the pool and echoes several elements of the house.
