Puy Lacroix farmhouse

For the renovation of the Puy Lacroix farmhouse, a French farm building dating from 1930 at Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat, in the Haute-Vienne, charred Accoya cladding by Delta Millworks was chosen. Designed by Romain Brunet Manquat, a timber expert and the owner of the property, the project used 100 m² of Accoya to clad the facades of the building. The product chosen, Delta Millworks’ Accoya Gator, is charred using the shou sugi ban technique: it was left bare, with no finishing coat, to achieve the deep, textured effect the owners wanted. Accoya was selected for its exceptional durability and for the singular beauty that charring allows, marrying the contemporary look of black timber with the rustic authenticity of this century-old Limousin farmhouse.
