Renovation of a Breton house with Accoya shutters and cladding

As part of the renovation of a typically Breton house at Larmor-Plage, in the heart of the Morbihan, Accoya wood was chosen to make new shutters and to clad the upper part of the facade. Located right beside the ocean, the house called for a timber that was particularly stable and resistant to damp and weather, a decisive criterion in the face of the famous Breton storms. The shutters were made by CUBE, an approved Accoya manufacturer, and the wood supplied by the distributor Peltier Bois. The cladding was fitted by the client himself, the architect LE CAB. The result sits perfectly at the crossroads of modernity and tradition: the house keeps all its Breton authenticity, with its characteristic volumes and stonework, while standing out through the contemporary touch of the timber cladding. An architectural gamble made good by the performance and the appearance of Accoya.
