The first two-storey KFC at Prestwich

Located on Bury New Road at Prestwich, near Manchester, this project marks an important milestone: it is the very first company-built KFC restaurant on two levels. Accoya wood, distributed by Mon Timber, was chosen as the ideal cladding material for this striking development, which features extensive external elevations and Accoya soffits. The wood was also used for the detailing of the drive-through canopy, and around the full-height glazing of the front elevations. To achieve this natural appearance, the pre-finished Accoya profiles were given a plus-ctec natural base coat and three translucent Sansin topcoats. One of the most durable materials on the market, Accoya has a 75% lower risk of shrinking and swelling in the face of changing weather, which lets it keep its integrity and its appearance over time.
