Tubmarine wood-fired hot tub

The Tubmarine is a wood-fired hot tub manufactured in the United Kingdom. It combines Kebony modified wood with a stainless steel tub, in a product aimed at private gardens.

Tubmarine and Kebony received the Construction Product of the Year trophy at the BLT Built Design Awards 2021, a distinction awarded for the combination of premium domestic use with low-impact design criteria.

The tub runs without electricity: it is heated by an integrated wood-burning stove and reaches operating temperature in under two hours, making it usable in all seasons. The timber elements are in 22 x 142 mm Kebony Clear.

Using modified wood answers the specific constraints of this application: constant contact with hot water, repeated wetting and drying cycles, continuous outdoor exposure. The material's dimensional stability limits movement and gaps in a watertight assembly.
