Woodinville Whiskey Co. warehouses, Quincy

Woodinville Whiskey Co. is a small-batch craft distillery in Woodinville, Washington. It was founded by Orlin Sorensen and Brett Carlile, with the aim of producing whiskey in a craft environment from high-quality local ingredients and with advanced distilling technology.

The company's maturation warehouses are located in Quincy, some 160 miles from the distillery. Two of the eventual five buildings have been completed so far.

They are finished with a ventilated Kebony Clear rough sawn rainscreen, in 25 x 200 mm boards. The rainscreen protects the wall while allowing air to circulate behind it, a principle well suited to large-footprint storage buildings. The modified wood gives these structures a controlled appearance and a long service life with no finish to reapply. Design: Graham Baba Architects. Contractor: Rimmer and Roeter.
