London Velodrome

Built for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, the London Velodrome is an emblematic example of sustainable, high-performance architecture. Designed to optimise energy efficiency and limit environmental impact, the building favours renewable materials, wood in particular.

The facades are clad in western red cedar, a naturally durable wood, protected by a Textrol-type saturating oil to guarantee its longevity against the weather. The structure also stands out for its light, optimised design, which significantly reduces material consumption.

Its iconic saddle shape allows excellent air circulation and optimal natural light, creating a sports venue that is at once functional, attractive and environmentally responsible.
