Jouen Frères

Jouen Frères is a French manufacturer of exterior wooden joinery. Founded in 1981 by brothers Gérard and Claude Jouen, the Breton family business is based in Saint-Nicolas-du-Tertre, in Morbihan. Its management is now led by Stéphane Jouen, who joined in 2015, and Jean-Philippe Jouen, since 2022, who are carrying on a manufacturing activity pursued for more than forty years. The company has developed expertise in Very High Temperature (THT) treated wood and installed its own treatment unit in 2011. This thermal process, without chemical additives, gives species a minimum use class 3 durability and makes it possible to add value to local woods that are not naturally durable for outdoor uses. The range covers exterior wooden fittings: gates, wicket gates, fences, cladding, shutters, sun-breakers, privacy screens and decks. Jouen Frères mainly works with local species such as poplar, ash and maritime pine, and also offers naturally durable exotic woods. Products are available in standard dimensions as well as made-to-measure or built from plans, with support for project owners and project managers. A PEFC-certified SME, the company promotes species sourced from sustainably managed forests and highlights a low carbon footprint, linked to the use of healthy materials and French manufacturing.
