Mühlböck

Mühlböck is an Austrian manufacturer of wood-drying installations (kilns and drying chambers). Founded on 2 January 1982 by Kurt Mühlböck, the company started with a single employee before building its first production hall in Eberschwang, in Upper Austria, where its historic site is still located. It has a second production site in Hartberg, in Styria, taken over in 2002 with the company VT Trockentechnik. The group now employs around 160 people and remains run by the founding family, with Richard Mühlböck in charge since 2018. The company focuses its expertise on wood-drying technology, from sawn-timber drying chambers to belt dryers for sawmill by-products intended for biomass and pellets. It designs and manufactures bespoke installations, adapted to each customer's needs, and claims more than 13,000 installations in service worldwide. The range is organized around several lines: the CLASSIC and INDUSTRY 1306 PRO drying chambers, the DYNAMIC progressive continuous-loading dryers, as well as the BASIC, CLASSIC and 1003 PREMIUM belt dryers for drying sawdust and chips. Mühlböck also modernizes and improves existing installations. Mühlböck puts energy efficiency at the heart of its offer. Its heat-recovery systems, including the 1003 type which reuses the stale air usually lost, make it possible to reduce the thermal energy consumption of drying, by up to 50% depending on the configuration.
