Océwood

Océwood is the consumer brand of Oceplast, a French manufacturer of eco-designed composite outdoor fittings (decking, fences, gates, wicket gates and cladding). The brand was created in 2005 by Oceplast, a company founded in 2002 in Vendée by Bertrand Dubin and Stéphane Coutand, initially specializing in PVC extrusion. All teams are brought together at a single production site in Aizenay, in Vendée. Now led by Nathalie Gamby, Oceplast reports around 70 employees and revenue of about €23M. Oceplast's core business is the design and extrusion of composite profiles, which it offers to consumers under the Océwood brand and to industrial customers in B2B. In 2017, the company replaced wood flour with flax shives, a local natural fiber from the flax industry, which it combines with recycled PVC. It developed the patented Tech-Sture technology, which combines an eco-designed composite core and a printed skin with outdoor inks free of VOCs. The Océwood catalog covers decking boards, fences and gates (Boréale and Tech-Sture ranges), wicket gates and cladding. Several decking ranges include a patented clip system designed to make installation easier. Océwood positions its activity within a circular economy approach. The cladding is certified Origine France Garantie, and the company highlights the MORE label, the recycling of its production offcuts, and the Récup'Chutes program for the recovery of construction-site waste.
