Description

SWOOD Nesting is an add-on module for SWOOD CAM dedicated to nesting parts on panels. It automatically lays out the components of one or more projects, of different thicknesses and materials, in order to maximise the use of material and reduce offcuts. Linked to SWOOD Design, it maintains grain direction continuity across fronts, which are grouped and then nested together for a consistent finish. Several strategies keep the parts held in place: cutting order from the smallest to the largest, automatic insertion of tabs, optimised toolpaths and no-go areas at the panel edge. The calculated layout can still be adjusted by hand, whether the position of the parts, the machining skips, the lead-in point or the labels. According to the publisher, optimising the paths saves up to 20% of milling time. A report generates the sheet lists, the programs and the labels in HTML, Excel or PDF format.
