EFICAD

EFICAD is a French publisher of CAD/CAM software for woodworking. Created on 1 July 1989, the company is based in La Grande-Motte, in the Hérault, and has been run by Christophe Vermeloux (chairman) and Christophe Quesnel (managing director) since 2022. Its flagship product, SWOOD, draws on around twenty years of the publisher's experience in the wood and joinery trades. SWOOD is a 3D CAD/CAM solution integrated into SolidWorks, organized around five modules covering design, computer-aided manufacturing, nesting, automation and timber construction. The software is notably distributed by Visiativ as part of its Innovation Engine platform, alongside SolidWorks and 3DExperience. Its features cover material management with wood-grain and veneer orientation, joint automation (dowels, cams, mechanical connectors), machining simulation and the control of CNC machines from brands such as Homag, Biesse or SCM, as well as customizable reporting and documentation tools. SWOOD is aimed at furniture manufacturers, kitchen designers and retail fit-out specialists. EFICAD also publishes EFICN College and EFICN SW, its general CAM software under SolidWorks for mechanics. The company is a regular exhibitor at the LIGNA trade show in Hanover. SWOOD is certified “SolidWorks Gold Product” and the company offers dedicated support and training for its users.
