Description

The TRC Woodpatch is a fully automatic Wintersteiger plant dedicated to repairing wood panels with plugs. It was developed specifically for multi-layer panels such as formwork panels, glued laminated panels and solid wood panels. The panel is scanned on both sides with the Faulty Spot Eye, which detects the defect areas as well as the discolouration to be taken into account when assessing grades. Each defective area is bored out and then repaired: the motorised spindle drills the area while a plug is made from a wooden batten and positioned exactly in the direction of the grain. After the first side, the panel can be turned over and repaired in a second pass, or processed on both faces in a single pass with two machines in line. The modular structure allows extendable lines. Panels from 1,500 to 3,000 mm in length, 500 to 510 mm in width and 10 to 20 mm in thickness can be processed.
