Description

In high-performance planing operations, the feed speed is often limited by the tool, and setup times weigh on machine availability. The TurboPlan PLUS hydraulic planing cutterhead removes both constraints. Its higher number of cuts allows feeds of up to 300 m/min while maintaining the expected planing quality. The knives feature the high-performance Marathon coating, extending tool life by a factor of five. Simultaneous hydraulic clamping of the knives reduces installation time by around 80% and secures the maintenance operation. The 10 mm regrinding allowance enables many successive regrinds. The weight-optimized body reduces the overall weight by about 30% compared with a steel body and is gentler on the spindle. The tool is used for softwoods and hardwoods and is particularly suitable for high-performance planers.
