Description
Drilling hardware holes along the edge of panels is a frequent bottleneck in the furniture industry: tool wear quickly degrades drilling quality. The Leitz solid-carbide shaping bit goes from two to three cutting edges, which increases drilling speed by about 50% and improves edge quality. The scorer geometry has been redesigned to eliminate chipping, even on sensitive decors, and the tendency to recut during withdrawal is reduced, even on less rigid machines. Manual rework and the scrap rate decrease accordingly, while tool life can be tripled at most. The tool is available in right-hand and left-hand rotation, in diameters from 18 to 35 mm, can be resharpened several times, and fits common drills and drilling lines as well as all common panel types and decors.
