SCM Area GL glulam beam processing machine

Description

The Area GL is a five-axis numerically controlled machining centre with a moving gantry structure, dedicated to the production of straight and curved glued laminated timber beams (Glulam). Its modular and configurable work table reaches 5 m in width and up to 60 m in length; it can be divided into two separate tables by movable partitions to allow pendulum machining in complete safety, with free access to the other station. The machine works parts up to 400 mm thick on bars and 550 mm on vacuum cups. Its 30 kW liquid-cooled unit provides power and precision, while a unit dedicated to the underside limits turning the parts over. A twin laser system guarantees quick and accurate referencing of the workpiece.
