UFV – SUD BOIS

UFV – Sud Bois is a French family-owned timber group that saws and processes softwoods, from the forest to finished products for construction and fit-out. Based in Avèze, in the Gard department, in the heart of the Southern Massif Central, the company originated from a sawmill founded in 1960 by Gilbert Gleize's father, near Le Vigan. In 1999, Gilbert Gleize passed the business on to his sons Pascal and Christophe, who represent the third generation. The group, whose corporate name is U.F.V (Union Forestière Viganaise) Bois, now has around 65 employees spread across three production sites. Its online sales platform sud-bois.fr, launched in 2014, обеспечивает direct sales. The core business focuses on processing local softwoods, mainly Douglas fir, fir and spruce. The company controls the entire chain, from sawing to drying, planing, treatment and the manufacture of finger-jointed solid timber and structural glued laminated timber. The catalog covers construction timber (roof frames, timber framing, formwork), finished products for indoor and outdoor use (decking, cladding, paneling, flooring, fences, carports, pergolas, stakes and logs), as well as eco-construction products (panels, insulation, accessories and hardware). Class 4 treated timber and custom sections are also offered. In 2021, the company committed to the « Bois de France » initiative, promoting production sourced from the Southern Massif Central ranges. Part of the range also benefits from PEFC certification.
