SEMA BIM IFC Data Exchange Module

Description

This add-on opens the SEMA program to the exchange of digital models through the IFC interface, the open exchange format of BIM. The flow works both ways: the firm passes its building models to the designers and specialist trades working on the project, and imports the 3D models produced by the architects straight into SEMA. The timber design then starts from the project model rather than from a rebuild based on 2D drawings, which limits differences of interpretation and makes clashes between trades easier to spot. The module is intended for roofing work, timber and prefabricated construction and refurbishment. It is offered as an option on the Roof Structure, Timber Construction and Roofing - Sheet Metal - Facade packages, and is included as standard in the Prefabrication package.
