SCM Oikos XL timber frame machining centre

Description

The Oikos XL is a six-axis numerically controlled machining centre for the production of glued laminated beams and large-format columns. It handles and machines automatically workpieces weighing up to 4000 kg and up to 610 mm thick. Its six axes machine every face of the workpiece in a single set-up, and a 25 kW electrospindle allows large amounts of material to be removed, including in hardwoods. The machine suits beams, columns and large modular CLT panels, with a section up to 1250 x 610 mm and up to 1250 x 500 mm for the cuts separating the bars. It handles lengths from 9 to 19 m, with a blade 740 mm in diameter, and is programmed with Maestro beam&wall.
